Role Overview
The IBM Mainframe Specialist is a senior member of the PAS (Policy Administration Systems) team within the Solution Delivery department.
This role requires strong technical expertise to deliver best-fit solutions that drive business value. The position also provides technical leadership and vendor governance to ensure high-quality delivery.Key Responsibilities
Design, code, test, and maintain programs on IBM mainframe systems
Enhance and maintain existing software applications
Participate in Agile software development practices
Review application code to identify critical defects and implement fixes
Lead full system development lifecycle (SDLC), including integration testing and UAT
Manage end-to-end PAS development, including support for IT/ST/UAT phases
Contribute to PAS transformation initiatives under Japan's IT Modernization program
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development team members
Govern and manage vendor partners to ensure alignment, quality, and timely delivery
Collaborate closely with business partners and IT leaders

8+ years of IT delivery experience
Experience in Tier 1 insurance carrier transformation (preferred)
Familiarity with insurance system packages (preferred)
