Job Summary (Purpose of Job):

The Aftermarket Commercial Manger is the commercial interface between Importers/Dealers and Customers in his area and regional market management (TW, HK & JP) with full P&L responsibilities for Aftersales.

The objective of this position is to create & implement sales growth strategies in his area of responsibilities for Aftersales to deliver Parts revenue generation & create a better customers' experience within the Volvo Trucks Private Importers Networks.

He will be responsible to scan the markets in search for new ideas to increase parts sales and profitability, as well as be the brand ambassador for Volvo Trucks. He will actively lead the Importers/Dealers to drive implementation of the Volvo Trucks Parts & Uptime Service offerings to ensure profitable business growth, customer satisfaction and retention.

Main Tasks/ Responsibilities / Authorities

  • Create business plan proposal and develop action plans, sales activities to achieve Profitable growth TW, HK & JP.
  • Prepare timely & accurate budget & result reports.
  • Parts Pricing and profitability management
  • Develop the Genuine Volvo Service to actively lead & support the Importers/Dealers to identify opportunities & drive the implementation of the Volvo Uptime Journey.
  • Assist dealers to package, prepare proposals & negotiate service packages such as Volvo Service Agreements, when needed with local adaptations.
  • Collaborate with VTI & RVC teams to identify potential fleet owner's need of reliability & productivity & drive service solution product portfolio such as Service Agreements, Service Planning, and Telematics & Connected Services.
  • Facilitate Audit process of QR, DOS, Commercial Reviews, Branding, CSI within Retail Development and follow up actions to improve Importer/Dealer service operation quality and efficiency.
  • Work closely with RVC technical team in providing assistance to resolve warranty & Quality issues encountered by Importers/Dealers & customers in a timely manner.
  • Link between GTO SML & Importer/Dealer with regards to Logistics & parts availability performance
  • Perform regular customer visits to understand market requirements, pursue opportunities, gather feedback on competitors' activities and perform competitive analysis and support Market Directors
  • Authorities:

  • Ability to converse in Japanese & English is a MUST
  • Able to travel extensively for the job as this role covers not only Japan but HK & Taiwan markets as well. Some travel requirements to Singapore on team-building events, conferences, forums or meetings
  • As this role is to be placed in Japan, the incumbent must be comfortable working in Japan under its binding laws if not a native Japanese.

  • External: Region, Importers/Dealers, Customers

    Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:

  • Minimum Polytechnic diploma in engineering / technology with a good sense of commercial competence, degree preferred.
  • 5 years of aftermarket support / marketing experience in Trucks industry of equivalent industry.
  • Candidates with experience as a field engineer in related field or with aftersales marketing experience a plus.
  • Self-motivated, creative & lateral thinker with the ability to work independently.
  • Business minded with strong drive to improve; detail oriented, reliable & flexible to demanding working schedule & intensive travel required within SEA
  • Commercially focused, A good working knowledge of sales techniques and methodologies & product costing concept.
  • Strong understanding of customer / importer / dealer requirements in different segments and applications.
  • Ability to make effective decisions based on clear understanding of the business and customer requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and a local language
  • Has an analytical approach to problem solving with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively with cross functional teams
