What you will be doing
- Leading activities related to EHS in Japan
- Planning and implementing company-wide safety and environmental activities in Japan, including all locations
- Establishing and implementing internal systems, processes, and guidelines to comply with newly issued or revised applicable regulations
- Handling work-related accidents, implementing measures to prevent recurrence, developing action plans to reduce accidents, and deploying accident prevention measures
- Managing safety in the Tokyo office (head office, Tokyo branch), including fire and disaster prevention, safety management, and safety driving responsibilities
- Conducting and supporting internal education on safety and the environment
- Carrying out activities to prevent traffic accidents, commendations, and utilizing drive recorders for accident prevention
- Conducting awareness-raising activities for improving safety consciousness of employees and cooperating companies
How you will be doing it
- Collaborating with EHS personnel at each site and the field audit department
What we are looking for
Required
- Knowledge of and experience in compliance with labor safety, environmental, and construction-related laws and regulations
- Ability to collaborate with other departments and sites, expand and share information, and build processes (communication skills) and facilitate skills
- Experience in construction site management, leading risk management and safety activities in the field
Preferred
- Qualifications related to safety and health such as fire and disaster prevention managers, health managers, low-voltage electricity handling, foremen, safety health promotion, asbestos handling, and oxygen deficiency, or the intention and motivation to obtain them in the future
- Having a willingness to improve English proficiency and the ability to disseminate information from overseas in Japan in English (reading and writing skills are preferable)
