Scrum Master

1. Architecting the Ultimate Team

Your primary impact is cultural. You will
galvanize
the team into its strongest version.

  • Foster deep trust and collaborative energy, ensuring teamwork isn't just a buzzword, but the operating standard.
  • Mentor the team relentlessly toward self-organization, shifting from relying on direction to owning their outcomes.
  • Embed sophisticated Agile and Scrum/Kanban practices that directly translate effort into maximum business value.
  • Build a bedrock of psychological safety where problems are shared immediately, treated as opportunities, and resolved collectively.

  • Instill
    a discipline of daily, incremental improvement, making optimization an instinct.

  • Coaching for Transformative Growth

You are a mentor, partner, and accelerator for individuals and key roles.

  • Proactively identify and curate growth pathways from structured Knowledge Transfers and shadowing to targeted feedback loops to visibly elevate individual team member capability.
  • Act as the dedicated coach to the Product Owner, honing their ability to shape the Product Vision, maintain a razor-sharp, value-prioritized backlog, and master stakeholder communication.

  • Your actions and professional conduct will set the standard for accountability, resilience, and Agile values.

  • Facilitation & Clarity

You ensure energy is focused and decisions stick.

  • Design and execute workshops and critical discussions that cut through complexity, ensuring crystal-clear objectives and optimal, quick outcomes.

  • Accelerate decision-making, ensuring consensus is reached efficiently and effectively, both within the team and with crucial external partners.

  • Owning the Delivery Engine

You are the guardian and optimizer of the workflow.

  • Gain absolute mastery of the end-to-end delivery flow, making every stage visible, often through tools like Value Stream Mapping or custom Kanban systems.
  • Define
    meaningful, actionable KPIs
    , ensuring they are measured accurately. You will then use these metrics to drive the team's Kaizen initiatives, ensuring improvements are quantified and sustained.

  • Relentlessly track, escalate, and personally drive the resolution of impediments that threaten the team's flow.

  • Championing Organizational Transparency

You connect the team's effort to the company's mission.

  • Provide a clear, unvarnished visualization of team health and progress (e.g., Velocity trends, Retrospective action items).
  • Share the team's victories
    and
    lessons learned transparently across the IT organization to fuel a wider transformation.
  • Be an active, contributing member of the Agile/Scrum Master Communities of Practice, both promoting their value internally and leveraging external insights.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of successful organizational change coupled with exceptional communication and persuasion skills.
  • Business-level fluency (written and spoken) in both Japanese and English is a strict, non-negotiable requirement.
  • Deep knowledge of coaching stances (listening, questioning, feedback) and the ability to adapt your style immediately to the audience (from technical architects to department heads).
  • Expert command of Scrum and Kanban. Strong understanding of Product Management concepts (Story Mapping, Value-Based Prioritization).
  • Proficient in visual management, setting and tracking meaningful Agile indicators, and using data to sustain continuous improvement.
