Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Foster a safe and inclusive working environment
- Demonstrate a strong expertise or potential in spectrometry and/or microscopic analysis, specifically on NMR, FTIR, SEM, AFM, XRD, etc. as well as gas and liquid chromatography analysis including but not limited to GC, GC/MS, LC and GPC, etc.
- Provide solution driven analytical supports for various analytical requests from internal customers across multiple business and different functions, conduct new analytical capability/method development to solve technical challenges/gaps from business and industry
- Work as the Chiba AS tech lead and regional AS focal point for various internal collaborations/partnering, and drive functional excellence of the local team through close working with his/her supervisor and delegated leader
- Partner with APAC business R&D/TSD teams or in Core R&D/business funded projects, providing effective analytical supports and consultations
- Initiate / participate in analytical related projects such as capability development projects, to draft project proposal, manage project flow and delivery, and complete it successfully
- Generate high quality of LIMS (AL) reports for analytical support. Properly document all technical learning internally (e.g. CRI's and/or DOWM). Prepare & present technical papers/presentations externally when there is a need.
- Collaborate with global analytical team and other teams in Core/business R&D and M&E for required tasks
- Build reputation of analytical expertise internally and externally
- Responsible for good record and management of various instruments on the above-mentioned techniques in lab
- Proactively drive & secure intellectual property including invention disclosures, case filings, and office actions
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D/Master in a chemical/material science related education background, and analytical related major is preferred. 5-8 Yrs plus working experience is required
- Hand-on experience on Spectrometry/Microscopy is required
- Industry experience is an important plus
- Experience in silicone materials is an important plus
- Must be a highly self-orientated and self-motivated person who takes the initiative to find and drive solutions to technical challenges
- Nice communication/presentation skills in both Japan and English
- Good interpersonal skills and a good team player
- Dynamic and strong passion to science and technology
- Disciplined to compliance
