Custom Media, an award-winning integrated marketing agency based in central Tokyo. We are seeking a part-time, detailed-oriented and proactive part-time finance assistant who can organize and execute their duties effectively.
We are seeking a Part-Time Finance Assistant to support our daily financial operations. Key Responsibilities include Invoice processing, Bank reconciliations, Expense management, and Managing accounts payable and receivables. The role is two days per week, offering a hybrid work arrangement (remote and office-based). The successful applicant will be required to work at least one day per week from our office in Kamiyacho.
The Ideal Candidate Profile requires a native Japanese speaker with a good command of English, and 2+ years of finance administration work experience.

Essential Skills And Qualifications
Experience & Education: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
Communication: Native Japanese fluency is essential, along with a good command of English, and experience working effectively in a multicultural setting.
Organizational & Management: Strong organizational skills, including a high degree of responsibility, excellent numeracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Must be able to exercise sound judgment, prioritize tasks, and manage workload effectively.
Technical Proficiency: Competence in using accounting software and high proficiency in Excel (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables is highly desirable).
Work Ethic & Approach: A proactive, flexible, and quality-oriented individual who consistently seeks to improve work quality and can maintain a positive, constructive attitude when working under pressure.
Teamwork: An enthusiastic and passionate team player who is open to receiving feedback and providing valuable insights.

Accounts Operations: Manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable (processing vendor invoices and payments in collaboration with the outsourced partner) and Accounts Receivable (issuing and processing client invoices).
Daily Financial Support: Assist with routine financial operations and tasks.
Reconciliation: Help balance bank statements and accounts.
Cash and Expenses: Handle staff expense reports and manage the petty cash report.
Administrative Duties: Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including filing, organizing documentation, and addressing internal inquiries.
