Marketplace business is the development of Rakuten Ichiba, Rakuten's founding business.
Since its founding in 1997, Rakuten Ichiba has embodied Rakuten's mission of "empowering people and society through innovation," and has delivered the joy of shopping to users across Japan by creating a system that allows those who are good at business to easily open a store, transcending the limits of the marketplace. We have been delivering the joy of shopping to users all over Japan.
Department Overview
D2C Fulfillment Section promotes the expansion of our national clients' EC businesses through our one-stop service to operate official brand stores on their behalf. Specifically, we provide a full range of services from website creation, planning and execution of sales plans, logistics, and customer support.
As a director of an official brand store, we supervise the creative of famous brands. The job is rewarding in that it is not the end of the creative process, but a tangible return in the form of sales and conversion rates, that I am involved not only in production but also in sales promotion and planning, and that I have the creativity to search for the best solution together with the client because the client expects me to be a "professional EC site developer. This is a challenging and rewarding job.
Position
Why We Hire
In the five years of service, we have grown by double digits each year and our headcount has increased tenfold, from 3 to 31 people. However, considering the number of inquiries we are currently receiving and the potential demand, we have only just taken our first step as a business.
We will further expand our investment in recruitment, system development, etc. to increase the number of stores in order to provide competitive national clients' products to a wide range of customers through our official brand stores.
Position Details
Responsible for managing the national client's official store on Rakuten Ichiba on behalf of the client, as well as providing consulting services to increase sales.
Role Expectations
- EC Shop Manager is responsible for maximizing client sales and all aspects of store operations, and will work as a partner to maximize the appeal of the brand. The number of clients to be handled is several (approximately 3). You will collaborate with internal and external parties involved in store operations to ensure smooth store operations.
- The job is diverse in nature, but with a training system in place, this is an environment where you can learn on the job.
Examples of Work
- Sales and sales promotion planning and proposals
- Site production (in collaboration with the director)
- Data analysis using SQL/Excel, etc.
- Advertising operation
- Operational practice (product registration, coupon issuance, point setting, etc.)
- Logistics (communication with agents)
- Customer service support (communication with agents)
- Accounting and legal support
Work Environment
There are three teams: 9 store managers (ECS), 16 EC directors (ECD), and 5 QS (quality improvement).
70% of our employees are mid-career hires, and the average age of our employees is in their late 30s (we have a wide range of ages from 20s~50s).
Although there is a wide range of backgrounds, those with a background in EC are active in the company.
Mandatory Qualifications
- At least 5 years of working experience
- Basic Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot)
- Basic PowerPoint skills (at the level to create documents)
Experience in any of the following
- EC site management operations
- EC site consultancy
- EC site advertising operations
- Retail operations (including offline)
- Organizational and business improvement and business management
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in managing stores on Rakuten Ichiba, other e-commerce malls, and official brand e-commerce stores
- Leadership and management experience
- Experience in quantitative analysis, improvement and KPI setting using analytical tools
