People Operations Specialist
Join our dynamic team at Kraken Tech and become a shining example of the Octopus Way. We're looking for a brilliant People Operations Specialist to help us shape key areas of our business and drive growth.
About the Role
- Work closely with our leadership team, local employees, and global people operations teams to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
- Create and revise company policies to ensure they align with our culture, business goals, and comply with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with external partners to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Be the APAC ambassador in the global engagement working group and support the rollout of initiatives locally.
- Identify improvement opportunities and lead process improvement projects to make our operations easier, more streamlined, and more efficient.
- Ensure we're constantly reviewing and adapting to business needs.
- Draft and send employment contracts to successful candidates.
- Create employee profiles on our HRIS (Hibob) in a timely manner and maintain people data accuracy for new hires.
- Potential to expand remit to the rest of APAC.

- Native level of Japanese, fluency in English.
Preferred Skills
- People Operations or HRBP experience with expertise in development initiatives, change management, and employee relations.
- Proven track record in overseeing and executing HR operational initiatives, including system applications, risk management, and mitigation.
- Experience with employment laws, labor relations, and compliance in Japan.
