Rakuten Group, Inc. (hereinafter called Rakuten) has almost 100 million customers based in Japan and 1 billion globally as well, providing more than 70 services in a variety such as e-commerce, payment services, financial services, telecommunication, media, sports, etc.
Department Overview
The mission of the Financial Business Supervisory Department is to consider/execute strategies and other aspects of Rakuten's fintech business, including Rakuten Bank, to further expand the fintech business ecosystem and improve its competitive advantage.

Position Details
As a candidate for the position of Strategy Officer/Senior Manager in the Financial Business Unit, you will be responsible for the following tasks, as an example.
Development and implementation of the overall strategy for the financial business
Rakuten's overall financial business strategy is formulated and implemented
Evaluating and coordinating the business plans of individual companies
Propose strategies based on market trends and competitive analysis
Rakuten's financial business strategy is designed to maximize synergies within Rakuten
Governance and Risk Management
Assessment of each company's governance system and recommendations for improvement
Establishment and operation of risk management frameworks
Support and follow-up of Internal Audit
Monitoring and performance evaluation
Monitoring of each company's performance
KPI setting and performance evaluation
Regular reporting to exectives
Mandatory Qualifications:
Relevant experience, e.g. PMI, restructuring, etc.
High communication skills, including negotiation, coordination and relationship-building skills
For staff level candidate
Those with experience or interest in the financial industry
For senior manager level candidate
Experience in the financial industry (e.g. advisory work at a securities company, planning department at a bank, etc.)
Desired Qualifications:
MBA or CFA holder
Experience in a holding company
