【Overview】

The company is developing services that leverage massive volumes of video, location, and sensor data collected from vehicles equipped with its next-generation AI dashcam service. This data is analyzed by AI to detect and utilize various road information, such as signs, signals, and road markings.

One of these services involves automatically extracting the differences between the latest road information and existing map data, and notifying map companies. This enables map companies to update maps more quickly with real-world changes, thereby establishing the maintenance framework required for the high-definition maps essential for the era of autonomous driving.

【Responsibilities】

You will be responsible for the design, development, and operation of a data pipeline that collects location, sensor data, and video from vehicles equipped with the company's AI dashcam service. This pipeline handles data transformation, cleansing, machine learning inference, extraction of map change information, and final output.

Furthermore, this is a role where individuals with diverse skill sets can thrive. Beyond data pipeline development, you will also be involved in:

・Developing algorithms to improve location accuracy and achieve efficient data collection.

・Developing Web tools for internal use and for map companies.

【Your Team】

You will join a small, elite organization of four backend/data engineers.

The engineers handle the entire process end-to-end, from defining requirements with clients/partners to designing, implementing, and operating the system. The team is dedicated to developing truly necessary data products by maintaining constant communication with customers. System development and improvement are carried out in close collaboration with the data scientist team, which is responsible for developing machine learning models.

【 Requirements】

■Required

・Development and operations experience with Go/Python (or experience with statically typed languages and ability to catch up)

・Development experience with systems involving spatial information/GIS/maps

・Development experience using SQL

・Team development experience using Git and services like GitHub

・Development, operations, and maintenance experience in Linux environments

・Development experience using Docker

・Experience building, operating, and maintaining databases

・Experience developing and operating services using public clouds like AWS or GCP

■Preferred

・Advanced expertise in spatial information / GIS / mapping

・Experience developing systems that perform inference using machine learning models

・Experience managing AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK (TypeScript)

・Experience developing pipelines for data acquisition, processing, and ingestion

・Experience launching services from scratch through direct customer communication

・Experience developing frontend and backend components for web systems

・Standard driver's license (preferred as domain knowledge, not required for driving in the job)
