Job Title: Immigration Law Paralegal

Job Description:

We are looking for a bilingual Japanese/English paralegal with 3-5 years of experience in immigration law. As an immigration law paralegal, your duties will consist of:

  • Supporting lawyers with all immigration case preparation and management tasks.
  • Conducting intake interviews to collect necessary information from clients.
  • Completing and submitting various immigration forms and petitions to government entities.
  • Creating correspondence, affidavits, and legal paperwork related to immigration issues.
  • Performing legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and precedents.
  • Overseeing case files, deadlines, and appointments to ensure timely task completion.
  • Engaging with clients, governmental representatives, and other involved parties for case updates and needs.
  • Providing translation and interpretation assistance during client interactions and hearings.
  • Supplying administrative aid to lawyers by managing schedules, calendars, and documents.
  • Remaining updated on immigration law and policy changes to offer precise advice to clients.

Requirements:

  • Holder of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in paralegal studies or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in immigration law.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and software.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic setting.
  • Familiarity with immigration forms, processes, and filing criteria.
  • Awareness of cultural sensitivities when dealing with diverse clientele.
  • Demonstrates ethical conduct and respects confidentiality guidelines when handling sensitive data.
  • Openness to potentially relocate to the United States in the future for job prospects.
