Based in Tokyo, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our cyber insurance portfolio and strengthening our market position. You will collaborate closely with our Japan/Asia teams and the global Munich Re Cyber team to contribute to the strategic growth of the Cyber insurance market by delivering tailored, value-adding service to key partners, unlocking scalable opportunities through the co-creation of innovative cyber products and solutions, and underwriting Cyber (re)insurance with deep subject-matter expertise to drive the profitable expansion of our portfolios.

Your Job:

• Assess Cyber and IT Risks: Conduct in-depth assessments of diverse cyber and IT-related risks across industries, supported by independent research on emerging technologies, threat landscapes, and market developments. Apply these insights to inform underwriting decisions for underwriting business and promote them as subject matter expert services to our key partners, ensuring alignment with end-customer needs, market trends, and underwriting guidelines.

• Advance Your Expertise: Collaborate with a professional team and receive guidance to enhance your capabilities in:

• Deliver high-quality cyber underwriting by translating complex risk assessment outcomes into appropriate (re)insurance terms and conditions - across both cyber and cross-line insurance, to ensure profitable and sustainable business, while maintaining compliance with internal underwriting guidelines and delegated authorities.

• Apply industry expertise and technical knowledge to develop innovative cyber insurance products that address evolving and diversified risk transfer needs. Identify and shape new business opportunities through close collaboration with business partners.
• Collaborate Globally: Collaborate with Munich Re's global cyber experts and cross-functional teams to deliver the latest underwriting expertise and lead local partner growth.
• Support Team Capability Building: Support internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to build cyber underwriting capabilities across the region.

Your Profile:
Education:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Engineering, or a related field. Candidates with degrees in other disciplines are welcome if they demonstrate a strong interest in IT, networks, cybersecurity, or IT risk-related P&C insurance - relevant certifications in IT or cybersecurity are a plus.

Experience:

• 5+ years of working experience in the digital/IT industry (e.g., IT network services, software), or in the Japanese Cyber/Tech PI insurance related sector.
• 5+ years of client-facing experience, with a strong client-centric approach to business development.

Key Qualification:
:

• Fluent in both Japanese and English with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
• Demonstrated ability to self-learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and emerging risks, with hands-on experience driving innovation and developing products in evolving business environments.
• Collaborative =team player with a strong focus on knowledge-sharing and partnering effectively with teams across different functions. .

Preferred Qualifications :

• Solid understanding of cyber insurance products or related lines of insurance business.
