Department Overview


The Partner Data Management Group within the Strategic Sales Department of the Travel & Mobility Business is a team dedicated to accelerating the growth of Rakuten Travel through data and systems.


Guided by our vision - to leverage data and systems to accelerate Rakuten Travel's growth and enable the best possible experience for all stakeholders — we support fast and accurate decision-making through objective data analysis and optimized tools.


As a key partner to the sales organization, we visualize and analyze partner and sales activities, identify critical KPIs, propose action directions, and conduct post-implementation evaluations.

Our scope covers the full cycle from analysis to actionable insights.


We utilize tools such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Tableau, Salesforce, and Microsoft Access to manage, analyze, and visualize data that directly contributes to business performance and productivity improvement across the Travel business.

In addition, the demand for competitive analysis and performance evaluation of sales initiatives continues to grow.

Currently, our organization faces a resource gap in meeting the expanding needs for data analysis and system-driven decision support.

To address this, we are seeking a new team member who can leverage Tableau and GCP to conduct data analysis and contribute to strategic planning.


This role offers the opportunity to directly improve business productivity and profitability through data analysis and system development, while helping shape the future of Rakuten Travel.

Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to partners and sales teams, helping define strategic directions and actionable sales initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze business and sales data to generate insights
Design and build dashboards using Tableau
Support sales strategy and initiative planning based on data
Conduct competitive analysis and derive actionable implications
Design and monitor KPIs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements

Example Projects

Optimizing sales actions through competitive benchmarking analysis
Measuring and improving the effectiveness of new initiatives
Leveraging AI to enhance sales productivity and operational efficiency

Background

Most team members have liberal arts backgrounds.

Experience levels range from those with prior data analysis exposure to complete beginners who have developed their skills on the job.

Mandatory Qualifications

Strong interest in data analysis

Basic PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Desired Qualifications

Experience with Tableau or other BI tools
Salesforce development or customization experience
Data analysis experience using SQL and/or Python
Experience applying AI to improve business processes
Experience working in a hypothesis-driven manner

TOEIC Score exceeding 800 (or similar level of English ability) or a University Degree earned in an English-speaking country.
