Overview
Manage Quaker & Snacks import-export business for Japan market, partnering closely with our Japan partners: Frito Lay for Snacks and Yutaka for Quaker by:

  • Leading the strategic planning / AOP process, working with business partners' senior managements.
  • Growing business by leading executions with business partner's operating (execution) teams.
  • Driving the imports through identifying new white spaces to expand PepsiCo's foods portfolio within Japan.
  • Enhancing brand equity working with category teams.
  • Manage Costco North Asia (Korea and Japan) and other global accounts, including:
  • Grow PEP TMs sales at Costco and other global accounts.
  • Meet customers for joint business planning working with US sales teams and support the customers.
  • Track the performance and identify the future opportunities

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic planning/AOP process for Japan Quaker and Snacks.
  • Work with business partners and PepsiCo category teams to develop operational plans designed to achieve aggressive business growth and financial performance targets.
  • Lead timely communication and collaboration with business partners (JFL and Yutaka) to ensure execution are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Expand portfolio to address Japanese consumer needs incl, but not limited to regulatory check, supply chain requirements and price negotiation.
  • Share global programs and best practices to business partners.
  • Tracking and reporting of business performance.
  • Work with regional category teams to gain approvals for new products (including packaging artwork).
  • Coordinate key events/meetings and internal visitors.

Key Account Management Responsibilities:

  • Provide superior customer-centric service, selling expertise in a direct/warehouse go-to-market.
  • Play leading role in creation of Plan and final AOP deliverable for Costco Japan and Korea.
  • Co-seller and creator of Clean/Core/White space national initiatives, innovation, and account specific programs
  • Assist in creating and selling annual joint business plans by utilizing shopper insights data and fact-based analysis to create customer/channel strategy.
  • Ownership of account communication and leadership with all key stakeholders - including cross functional Strategy and Supply Chain teams.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Collaborate across all areas of business planning: forecasting, internal and external communication, reporting, financial accounting, administration and customer service.
  • Communicate customer plans to appropriate cross functional support teams in a concise and timely manner to maximize execution and sales (Strategy, Finance, Logistics and GO).
  • High sense of urgency around customer service and internal operation needs.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate management degree with specialization in business administration or other related disciplines.
  • 10+ years sales/strategic planning/brand marketing or related work experience.
  • FMCG experience, experience in food business is preferable, experience in managing global accounts is a plus.
  • Cross functional experience - successful management of expectation / relationship at multiple levels.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English languages. Must speak, understand and read Japanese language.
  • Customer engagement - experience external partner engagement preferable. Such as field sales experience.
  • Franchise Management experience (e.g. licensing, JV, or other operation model) is preferable.
