Role Definition
Leads supply related activities for the Akashi facility to deliver excellence and integration between procurement and the team supporting facility.
Responsibilities
• Leading the execution of delivering a lean, responsive, and resilient material and services flow for the facility from source to dock and additional required points.
• Managing team that is responsible for operating and monitoring the supply network procurement functions to meet the defined response time, cost, quality, and lean targets enabling optimal and efficient facility operations.
• Ensuring the global supplier network is capable of meeting the specific facilities' Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, Management (QCLDM) requirements. Managing the global supplier network up to $1B annual spend and 400 suppliers globally.
• Collaborating with business partners and suppliers to deliver project to 25% cost reduction) and resolve facility specific supplier issues.
• Being the lead purchasing person at the Akashi campus; leading the Akashi procurement people council; leading the relationship management with Meikyo-Kai.
• Being the sponsor for the procurement compliance

Degree or equivalent experience desired

Supplier Management – Commercial: Talented in achieving business objectives by collaborating with others and effective relationship management. Manufacturing: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice. Lean expertise is a plus.
Procurement Function: Knowledge of responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of procurement function; ability to perform tasks and activities of the procurement functions or department.
Purchasing Tasks and Activities: Knowledge of policies, regulations and processes of purchasing; ability to use practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components, equipment and services.
