Join a global rollout and take ownership of Japan Payroll at the core of a multinational transformation.


We are supporting a global enterprise client in their Japan Payroll system implementation, as part of a wider international rollout.

This role focuses on end-to-end delivery for the Japan entity (approx. 820 employees, single legal entity), covering implementation, migration, Go-Live, and Hyper Care.

While SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (Japan) is the target system, SAP experience is NOT mandatory. Professionals with solid Japan Payroll and HR / Payroll system implementation experience from other platforms are very welcome.
This is a consulting-style role where you will bridge Japan-specific payroll regulations and global HR technology.

Domestic Japan payroll provider

Key Scope:
Year-to-Date (YTD) data migration (salary, tax, social insurance)
Year-end adjustment (Nenmatsu Chosei)
Statutory reporting (withholding slips, etc.)

Key Responsibilities
Lead and support requirements definition, business process design, and system design for Japan Payroll
Advise on process improvements related to Payroll / HR system implementation
Support data migration (including YTD), testing, Go-Live, and Hyper Care
Collaborate closely with global PMs and overseas consultants
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across Japan and global teams
Proactively manage issues, risks, and project communication

Required Qualifications
Strong hands-on knowledge of Japan Payroll operations, such as:
Payroll calculation
Year-end adjustment
Social insurance
Tax / withholding
Experience with HR or Payroll system implementation, operation, or vendor coordination
SAP experience is not required
Business-level Japanese (client-facing communication required)
Experience working in system implementation or project-based environments

Nice to Have
Experience with SAP SuccessFactors ECP / SAP Payroll / SAP HCM
Background in Payroll vendors, BPO providers, or consulting firms
Exposure to global or multi-country projects
