We are seeking an experienced and service driven In Room Dining Assistant Manager to join Janu Tokyo. This role is suited for a hospitality professional who thrives in a dynamic luxury environment and who brings both operational strength and a genuine passion for personalised service. Reporting to the Food & Beverage leadership team, you will be involved in delivering refined and seamless dining experiences that reflect Janu's modern and vibrant approach to hospitality. With strong knowledge of In Room Dining operations and premium service environments, you will create memorable guest moments through thoughtful details, consistency, and warm intuitive engagement. In this leadership role, you will oversee daily operations while guiding and inspiring colleagues on the floor. Your ability to connect with guests and with your team will shape experiences that feel elevated yet effortless, energetic yet deeply personal.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional In Room Dining and Food & Beverage service in alignment with Janu and Aman quality standards
- Ensure every guest interaction reflects Janu's spirit of connection, joy, and soulful hospitality
- Support and supervise daily operations, ensuring service flow, accuracy, and consistency
- Lead by example on the floor, offering guidance, coaching, and motivation to team members
- Collaborate with culinary, service, and operational teams to create seamless guest journeys
- Engage intuitively with guests including VIP and long stay guests, offering personalised and thoughtful service
- Monitor orders, timing, and service quality using pos, ordering, and reservation systems
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and readiness of all service areas
- Uphold food safety, hygiene, and operational standards at all times
- Contribute to training and development of junior colleagues
- Share ideas to enhance service quality, guest engagement, and operational efficiency
Requirements
- Experience in Food & Beverage operations for 8 years or more
- Experience in In Room Dining operations for 5 years or more
- Experience as a supervisor, team leader, or assistant manager
- Business level English proficiency (CEFR B1 or above)
- Advanced business level Japanese proficiency (CEFR B2 or above)
- Strong computer literacy including advanced use of MS office and hospitality related systems
*Candidates with exceptional experience or skills may be considered even if they do not meet every point
Preferred skills and experience
- Experience in a luxury or ultra luxury hotel environment
- Knowledge of wine, beverages, and cuisine with confident recommendation and upselling skills
- Experience using pos systems, ordering platforms, and reservation management systems
- Experience delivering personalised service to VIP and long stay guests
- Hospitality related certifications such as sommelier or hotel management
- Additional foreign language skills
