Accounting and Finance Manager (Luxury Motorsports), Osaka

Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Operations:
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with Japanese accounting standards (J-GAAP) or IFRS, as applicable.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement).
- Ensure compliance with Japanese tax laws, corporate regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
- Budgetary Control & Cost Management:
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances.
- Implement strong internal controls and segregation of duties to safeguard company assets.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across departments.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Potential to build and lead a finance team as the company grows.
- Provide financial guidance to other departments and management.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Experience:
- 4+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
- Proven track record in establishing financial operations, ideally in a new or growing company.
- Strong knowledge of J-GAAP and Japanese tax regulations.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in financial software (Xero experience a plus).
- Advanced Excel skills for modeling and analysis.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Fluency in Japanese and English (written and spoken).
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience in automotive/motorsports.
- Knowledge of IFRS or Japanese corporate governance.
