As an Expert Engagement Manager, you will:
Work with C-suite executives in problem-solving on their key issues and provide actionable recommendations leveraging your data analytics expertise, know-hows, and business sense
Help enterprises think strategically about how to leverage technology to create fundamental business impact, from formulating tech-driven growth strategies to enabling more efficient operations through the use of technology such as generative AI
You will help lead digital and analytics engagements that include the development and deployment of AI technologies
Play an active role in all aspects of a client project, typically working in teams of 3 to 5 consultants alongside experts and partners of all tenures, including data scientists, data engineers, developers, designers, and others; this will include gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations for client presentations
Have the opportunity to present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members

You will be based in Tokyo and will be part of our QuantumBlack team.
As an Expert Engagement Manager, you will work with other Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, Designers and Project Managers on interdisciplinary projects, using Math, Stats and Machine Learning to derive structure and knowledge from raw data across various industry sectors.
You will also work with colleagues from across McKinsey & Company to help our clients deliver breakthrough products, experiences and businesses, both on technology and non-technology topics.
Your Qualifications and Skills
Advanced degree, preferably an MBA or PhD in a relevant field (such as computer science, machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics)
10+ years of work experience after completing your undergraduate degree, with functional knowledge in data analytics and cloud data systems and platforms
Engagement Manager level (or equivalent title) experience at a consulting firm or professional services firm
Combination of strategic and analytical insights with a passion for technology
Experience in applying data science methods to business problems
Good presentation and communication skills with a knack for explaining complex analytical concepts to people from other fields
Demonstrated aptitude for analytics
Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively in English and Japanese
