Job Purpose:

A solution driven role to help resolve on-boarding, documentation, regulatory or other infrastructure issues preventing our key customers either growing or enhancing business with the Markets division.

  • Support Japan Financial Institution Solutions & Sales Management to address and resolve client issues pertaining to Legal Documentation (e.g. ISDAs/CSAs), KYC issues, Citi Collateral Guidelines (including their development and implementation), Onboarding Experience and regulatory initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams in developing and driving the client experience through the trade lifecycle from initial on-boarding & pre trade through to demarketing and client off-boarding
  • The role will focus on Citi's global markets Japanese client requests by helping to manage, develop and drive the regulatory client on-boarding & documentation process to enable fast and efficient completion
  • This is a unique and challenging role that provides exposure to clients, to various product and control groups as well as visibility from senior business leaders, with a focus on enhancing the client experience.

    • Job Background/context:

    This role reports into Japan Financial Institution Solution, Sales [FISS] & Relationship Management, specifically this role will reside within First Line Client Specialist.

    This is a unique and challenging role that provides exposure to clients, to various product and control groups as well as visibility from senior business leaders, with a focus on enhancing the client experience.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The primary function is to improve the service and experience offered to our Japanese customers across the region, ensuring the client receives a service that is seamless and structured to ensure efficiency. As stated this is a client solutions based role facilitating the management of the various documentation processes, Credit approvals and operational troubleshooting as necessary. As such the candidate will:

  • Become the point of contact for our Japanese clients with respect to smooth transition of pre-execution process by ensuring coordination of KYC, Onboarding, Credit, Legal, regulatory and Operational efforts needed to get the client ready to trade with Citi
  • Demonstrate the role of FISS KYC proxy owner and liaise with clients and operations for timely completion of KYC renewal
  • Self-starter with good knowledge and understanding of legal documentation (e.g. ISDAs, CSAs, GMRAs/GLSAs, etc.), the Current Banking Regulatory Environment (Dodd-Frank, EMIR, FATCA, etc.) and the ability to navigate the internal structure of a large global organization such as Citi
  • Be the FLOD point of expertise for risk issues and drive risk knowledge transfer and awareness within the business with a focus on Japan. KYC/AML or Middle Office, Credit, Risk, On-boarding is preferred
  • Act as a point of escalation/resolution for client impacting events such as risk, regulatory or legislative change. Work with legal and markets transformation team in repapering legal documents & ensuring a seamless transition to meet the regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement client driven solutions to enhance the client experience through the trade lifecycle by working closely with coverage bankers, sales and solutions and other business support function

    A client facing role that will provide exposure to the firms key customers both from a business, infrastructure and regulatory perspective

    Also offers exposure to Risk Management, Legal, Compliance and Operation's departments in understanding the implications of derivative transactions in a fast-changing marketplace.

    Knowledge/Experience & Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will have 8-10 years' experience in financial services, legal or risk based background.
  • Good exposure or previous experience in a client development, operations, relationship, risk or product management
  • Broad range of Markets products such as Fixed Income, Equity, FX and Commodity Products, specifically but not limited to derivatives and financing transactions
  • Knowledge of trade flows, infrastructure and CLM
  • Counterparty Credit Risk experience preferred
  • Documentation experience advantageous
  • Good operational control, change management & customer interaction experience would also be a benefit
  • Education : Degree preferred (Legal advantageous)
  • Languages would be advantageous

  • Efficient and effective use of office software (including spreadsheets and databases)
  • Process management skills an advantage
  • Ability to drive the decision process without direct ownership
