Internal Trainer (Talent Development) - Travel Industry

Tokyo, Japan | Full-time | Hybrid

We are looking for an
Internal Trainer
to join our
Training & Development
team. This role works closely with the Training Manager and plays a key part in designing, delivering, and continuously improving internal training programs for
travel consultants, tour guides, operations staff, and managers
.

This position is ideal for someone with
experience in the travel / tourism industry
who enjoys sharing knowledge, developing people, and contributing to long-term training strategy in a collaborative, international environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Design & Curriculum Development

  • Design, review, and update training materials, including presentations, workbooks, e-learning modules, and assessments
  • Continuously improve training content based on feedback, field observation, and operational needs
  • Support curriculum development and training evaluation initiatives

Training Delivery

  • Deliver onboarding and refresher training for all teams in the Tokyo office
  • Facilitate in-company localized training, supporting subject matter experts in delivering internal sessions
  • Take ownership of training programs for part-time staff
  • Collaborate with Product and Systems teams on specialized internal training (e.g. tour products, internal tools)

Planning & Administration

  • Prepare training reports for each session and contribute to quarterly reporting
  • Support training schedule planning and coordination
  • Assist with training needs analysis and skills development projects
  • Work closely with the Training Manager on annual training plans, learning platforms, and training-related initiatives

What We're Looking For:

Required Experience

  • Minimum
    5 years of experience in the travel or tourism industry

Nice to Have

  • Experience in training, teaching, coaching, or team leadership
    (Candidates without direct training experience may be considered if highly motivated and eager to learn.)

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • High level of organization and time-management skills
  • Calm, resilient, and solution-oriented in fast-paced environments
  • Comfortable using e-learning tools, presentation software (e.g. Canva), and standard office tools.

Language

  • Japanese:
    Business level or above
    (strong reading and writing skills required)
  • English:
    Business level or above

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in tourism, hospitality, business, or a related field preferred
  • Training or adult-education certifications are a plus, but not mandatory
