Systems Administrator Senior

GDIT maintains MTC administration functions on multiple information technology systems capable of connecting to multiple network enclaves. Builds, configures, and maintains servers and systems for the MTC, which enable delivery of contract performance deliverables.

HOW A SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT


  • Establishes and maintains administration functions on multiple information technology systems capable of connecting to multiple network enclaves. Builds, configures, and maintains servers and systems for the MTC to meet event/exercise requirements IAW simulation control plans and/or C2 and network architectures.
  • Conducts System Admin functions on multiple systems capable of connecting to multiple network enclaves.
  • Builds, configures, and maintains servers and systems for the MTC. Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.
  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems. Sets up administrator, user, and service accounts.
  • Maintains and provides the guidance and troubleshooting for the infrastructure architecture enclaves within the network enclave boundary.
  • Supports and leads the STIG and RMF updates for all systems within the network enclave boundary. Reviews STIGs and Best Business Practices (BBPs) to ensure all servers meet the required Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Army and DOD standards.
  • Maintains system documentation. Develops and implements backup recovery. Develops and implements application testing strategies and document results.
  • Provides advice and training to end-users. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.
  • Maintain equipment inventories of equipment, submit lists of supplies and equipment, assist in the ordering process, property accountability, and store items upon receipt. Assist GDIT logistics manager with physical disposition of materials and supplies.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Required technical certification. Meet DoD M Baseline Computing Environment (CE) Certification Requirements at Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT II).
  • Education. BS/BA in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience3 years' experience.
  • Required experience. 5 years of related IT experience working independently or under general direction on complex application problems involving all functions of systems administration.
  • Preferred, experience in software layers (e.g., hypervisor, virtual machines, storage management, etc.); strong VMWare and Dell VRTX background.
  • Preferred, advanced skills in operating and configuring both Windows and Linux Operating Systems and Services; Advanced understanding and application of DISA STIG and RMF.
  • Location. On Customer Site. Willing to work on-site and at austere training locations.
  • Security clearance required. Must possess a SECRET clearance.

Salary and Benefit Information
The likely salary range for this position is $88,275 - $99,612. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.

Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
