IT Platform Transformation Lead

Salary circa £67,000 (depending on experience) Hours 39hours Fulltime Location Nissan Sunderland Position Full Time, Permanent Date Listed 26 October 2023 Closing 28 February 2024

Summary

As the IT Platform Transformation Lead you will be a key member of the IT organisation providing infrastructure and services across Europe and the wider (AMIEO) region. In this role you will be responsible for the creation and delivery of the strategic roadmap and projects required to evolve Nissan's IT platforms and systems to the next and future generations ensuring required levels of performance, security and cost.

You should apply if you have:

  • Experience of migrating applications and IT platforms to cloud based technologies.
  • Experience of migrating IBM platforms to new cloud-based solutions (e.g. zSeries, iSeries, pSeries)
  • Experience of working with service providers through managed service agreements (IaaS, PaaS).
  • Experience of Datacentre management and/or migration of infrastructure and services.
  • Experience of creating strategies to support database migrations.
  • Experience of data integration methods beneficial but not essential.
  • Able to build and articulate case for change to secure senior management buy in.
  • Technical project and programme management.
  • Building new capability / teams.
  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience

    • Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead the medium to long-term strategy for IT platforms and services migration to the cloud and/or platform as a service.
  • Define strategy and roadmap for critical infrastructure hosted on-premises today to algin with future hosting strategy e.g. cloud migration
  • Build projects and case for change to secure required investment and resources.
  • Oversee the delivery of critical infrastructure migration projects (e.g. Mainframe re-hosting) within an ongoing Datacenter transformation program.
  • Set and implement sourcing and maintenance strategy for critical platforms and capabilities within the Nissan organization.
  • Manage 3rd party and OEM relationships.
  • Support Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through mature financial ops process.
