Role Summary:
We are seeking a Business Analyst to support the successful implementation of a cloud-based ELN system by bridging scientific workflows and technical capabilities.
This role will work closely with researchers, IT teams, and vendor partners to ensure the solution meets business needs and regulatory requirements.
Primary Skill Set:
ELN/LIMS Knowledge with expertise in Cell and Gene therapy and knowledge in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or similar life science field
Secondary Skill Set:
Computational Biology, Protein Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Statistical Data Analysis
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to gather business and functional requirements.
Analyze current lab workflows and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for digitization.
Translate scientific processes into system configurations, templates, and user stories.
Support the development of experiment templates and approval workflows.
Assist in validation planning, test case creation, and execution support.
Collaborate with training teams to develop user guides, training materials, and onboarding content.
Facilitate requirement gathering workshops, design reviews, and UAT planning sessions.
Act as a liaison between Japanese-speaking end users and global technical teams. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills
Strategic mindset with strong analytical foundation
Ensure traceability of requirements and alignment with compliance standards (GxP, audit trails).
Demonstrates proficiency with one or more technology environments, with the ability to learn and apply new and emerging concepts very quickly.
Ability to analyze complex business problems and evaluate solutions.Ability to translate complex technical issues into business terms.
Good understanding of GxP compliance and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
Develop a deep understanding of system use, data flows and configured architecture.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of business analysis experience in life sciences, pharma, or biotech.
Experience working with ELN, LIMS, or other lab informatics platforms.
Strong understanding of scientific data, experiment documentation, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to translate complex scientific workflows into system requirements.
Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Excel for documentation and tracking.
Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English (business-level) is mandatory.
