About the role
We are looking for a Vice President, Client Success to join us in Tokyo. This role plays a critical part in shaping how we partner with, retain, and grow our client base across the region.

Our Client Success team is central to how we deliver value to clients across trading, post-trade, data, analytics, and regulatory solutions. As a Vice President, you will own senior client relationships, set regional engagement strategy, and ensure our platforms are deeply embedded into client workflows. You will act as a senior escalation point, a commercial partner to Sales, and a trusted voice back into Product and Technology.

This role has a direct impact on client retention, revenue growth, and long-term platform adoption across Japenes clients. By combining strategic account leadership with deep market knowledge, you will help ensure we continue to deliver measurable outcomes for our clients while supporting our broader regional growth objectives.

What you'll do

  • Own executive-level relationships for a portfolio of strategic Japanese client accounts, acting as the senior point of contact and escalation
  • Define and deliver regional client success strategies and structured account plans aligned to client objectives and Japanese growth priorities
  • Drive sustained adoption and expansion of our trading, post-trade, data, analytics, and regulatory solutions across the client base
  • Identify, shape, and progress complex commercial opportunities including upsell, cross-sell, and multi-product expansion, partnering closely with Sales
  • Lead and contribute to senior client business reviews, value assessments, and long-term roadmap discussions
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients on securities finance workflows, regulatory change, and operational optimisation
  • Use client usage data, engagement metrics, and feedback to proactively identify risks, retention issues, and growth opportunities
  • Partner with Product and Technology teams to influence roadmap prioritisation based on client and regional needs
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior Client Success team members, setting standards for engagement, execution, and accountability
  • Represent the Japanese Client Success team internally, contributing to regional planning, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
  • What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of relevant commercial experience within securities finance, capital markets, or financial services
  • Strong front-to-back understanding of securities finance workflows, including trading, post-trade, onboarding, and regulatory processes
  • Proven experience managing senior client stakeholders and complex, multi-office account relationships
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with a track record of driving revenue growth through platform adoption and solution expansion
  • Ability to articulate complex product value propositions clearly to both business and operational stakeholders
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Technology, and Operations to deliver outcomes without direct authority
  • Strong analytical capability, with confidence using data and metrics to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience leading executive-level discussions and negotiations
  • Highly accountable and self-directed, with the ability to operate effectively in a senior, regionally focused role
  • Why EquiLend?

  • Work flexibly with up to 100 remote working days per year.
  • Take time to recharge with annual vacation entitlement that increases with career level, in addition to public holidays.
  • Be recognised for your contribution through a discretionary annual cash bonus, linked to individual and company performance.
  • Access statutory social insurance, including pension, health insurance, and unemployment insurance.
  • The annual base salary range for this role is JPY 11,800,000 – JPY 14,700,000.
