Role Mission:
The Digital Director will drive the digital and e-commerce strategy across Japan. This role requires a deep understanding of regional digital landscapes, customer behaviors, and regulatory environments, ensuring seamless digital commerce execution while influencing global digital initiatives. The Digital Director will also serve as a key liaison between the Japan region and global stakeholders,

ensuring alignment and representation of regional digital priorities on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • E-Commerce & E-Wholesale Leadership:
    Develop and execute a best-in-class digital commerce strategy covering
    e-wholesale, e-commerce (D2C and marketplaces), and omnichannel retail
    to optimize business performance across Japan.
  • E-Merchandising, Conversion Rate Optimization & Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage analytics, AI, and big data to optimize product visibility, personalization, and seamless digital shopping experiences. Improve user journeys and maximize conversion rates
    through A/B testing, UX enhancements, and performance-driven marketing.
  • Traffic Generation & Digital Marketing:
    Develop and oversee regional
    SEO, SEM, paid media, social commerce
    to drive quality traffic and customer acquisition.
  • Market-Specific Digital Expertise:
    Leverage knowledge of JAPAN digital ecosystems, consumer behaviors, and regulations to shape tailored digital commerce and engagement strategies.
  • Performance & ROI Management:
    Establish KPIs to measure e-commerce and e-wholesale success, ensuring continuous growth and strategic impact.
  • Leadership & Influence:
    Collaborate closely with C-suite executives, regional stakeholders, and local teams to drive digital adoption and transformation.
  • Global Representation & Collaboration:
    Work closely with the global teams, ensuring that JAPAN's digital priorities and challenges are represented and integrated into the overall corporate strategy.
  • Innovation & Emerging Technologies:
    Identify and implement innovative solutions in
    e-commerce, AI, automation, and data-driven personalization
    to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Partner with Marketing, IT, RGM, retail and wholesale teams to integrate digital commerce across all business functions.

Experience and Expertise:

  • 12+ years of experience in
    e-commerce, e-wholesale, digital transformation, marketing, or technology leadership
    across Japan.
  • Deep understanding of regional digital ecosystems, including
    major platforms and local/regional e-wholesale channels
    .
  • Strong
    stakeholder management and influencing skills
    with the ability to navigate global and regional complexities.
  • Experience working with
    regulatory frameworks
    for e-commerce, data privacy, and cybersecurity.
  • Expertise in
    customer-centric digital commerce strategies
    , user experience optimization, and performance marketing.
  • Strong technical knowledge of
    AI, big data, automation, and cloud-based commerce solutions
    .
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Digital Marketing, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • English proficiency is a must.
