The Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting and developing our business by technically supporting the sales organization, being responsible for the technical aspects of the sales cycle, so that our partners can be professional aligning Axis business strategy, working in close cooperation with sales organization.
The Sales Engineer is influencing decision makers both in the beginning of the sales cycle – to get Axis specified and increasing the chance of winning business and throughout the sales cycle, handling both pre- and post-sales matters and including onsite support, demo, shootout, solution test and collecting information. Overall goal is to develop a relationship as trusted advisor and build loyalty.
The Sales Engineer is responsible for transferring competence, knowledge and expertise to the Axis team and partners. Enabling partners through making and executing a plan with sales organization, so that partners can be competent in our solutions.
The Sales Engineer is responsible for researching, preparing & presenting technical product training, designed to provide the essential skills for partners to successfully implement Axis products, which may include third party hardware and software solutions.
The Sales Engineer has proactive communication with other region members and shares his/her knowledge and experience so that they can incorporate them into themselves.
Responsibilities (key accountabilities)
- Support the sales organization to influence project with customer or partner visits together with sales and product demonstrations and pilot installations.
- Provide internal and external assistance during the Sales Process to include delivering product demonstrations to customers.
- Work together with the integrator and/or technology integration partner during the project sales process, to solve customer challenges.
- Helping the sales organization to qualify sales leads in order to select projects which will give a return of investment in time and energy to close the deal.
- Continuously keep the technical knowledge up to date on the latest products and features and also managing demonstration facilities including solution laboratories in order to offer the best possible solution to the needs of the customers.
- Work with HQ/regional/global pre-sales organization and develop written pre-sales material of technical nature, both in the form of articles and PowerPoint presentations.
- Helping sales organization to increase knowledge on the Axis portfolio and handle the Regional Sales Team as an "internal" customer.
- Support trade show and market event to provide the latest product/solution presentations and demonstrations.
- Collect competitor information and experience from local market and share through HQ/regional/global SE network and Competitive Intelligence activities to sell our unique values and differentiation.
- Support HQ to release new products and solutions by evaluating them, assisting administration of local regulations.
- Provide technical marketing support at marketing activities.
Profile (Qualifications for this job) Knowledge, abilities, skills
- Proven experience in pre-sales within the IT channel preferred with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- IT experience in networking, IP-based technologies, cloud technologies and applications with knowledge of network infrastructure (TCP/IP), software and hardware technology as a system integrator an advance.
- Experience in system design and proposal mainly focused on cloud computing and edge computing he/she has is ++.
- Preferable to attain industrial certification from CISCO, Linux, Microsoft with technical experience from CCTV business.
- Skills in network utilizing IoT and communication technology he/she has is +.
- Skills in collecting, processing, and analyzing big data he/she has is ++.
- Ability to provide effective presentations and demonstrations motivating customers and other stakeholders, all levels of people.
- Experience and passion for teaching, open minded and a team player with an experience of working in a multinational environment.
- Excellent organizational and follow-through skills; and the ability to communicate in English (TOEIC600) and native Japanese.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook)
- High level of self-initiative, self-motivation and sales oriented.
- Travelling is required within the region and overseas though the home base is Tokyo.
- Not only activities in our office, but also long-term activities at our client's sites can be required if necessary.
- Proven and enough experience in surveillance camera, security market.
