Key Responsibilities
- Act as Legal, Company Secretary for board and shareholder meetings, including drafting and managing corporate documents.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts (distribution, supply, services, leases, etc.).
- Support HR on employment law matters and contracts.
- Advise on product claims, advertising, and regulatory compliance (including medical devices and consumer law).
- Lead compliance initiatives (data privacy, anti-bribery, AML, etc.) and deliver internal training.
- Manage litigation matters and coordinate with external counsel.
- Support M&A and other strategic transactions, including due diligence and contract review.
- Ensure competition law compliance and liaise with regulatory authorities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- A qualified lawyer either in Japan or non-Japan would be a plus, either an experienced legal specialist with 5+ years in corporate/commercial law.
- Experience in both law firms and in-house legal departments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese and international legal frameworks.
- Native-level Japanese and fluent English (legal terminology proficiency required).
- Team-oriented, adaptable, and proactive with strong communication skills.
