Job Title: Accounting Manager
Job Summary: This established insurance company is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join a dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for IFRS and local GAAP reporting, tax return preparations, and managing accounting services. This role also involves handling global and APAC region projects, overseeing an offshore team in India, and managing the audit process. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the financial industry, excellent command of English and Japanese, and a solid understanding of non-life insurance accounting.
Job Responsibilities:
- IFRS Reporting: Lead monthly and quarterly financial closings in compliance with IFRS standards
- Local GAAP Reporting: Oversee the closing of accounts, coordination with audit firms, and financial reporting
- Tax Preparation: Manage the preparation and filing of tax returns
- Accounting Services: Supervise credit control, suspense clearance, and other accounting-related tasks
- Project Management: Coordinate and manage projects and initiatives across the global and APAC regions
- Team Leadership: Manage and guide the offshore accounting team based in India
- Audit Management: Ensure compliance and manage the audit process efficiently
Job Requirements:
- Work Experience: Prior experience in the insurance or financial industry.
- Language Skills: Business-level English and Native-level Japanese
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of IFRS 17 and non-life insurance accounting, finance, and taxation is nice to have
