Our product - LINK is a comprehensive communication and ecosystem app for Rakuten Mobile customers. It offers various services such as calls, messaging, contact management, voicemail, official accounts, news, cash transfers, and point rewards. LINK Desktop enhances the communication experience on PCs and laptops.

The QA Section is working as a central organization supporting the PSD (Link Product Solution & Delivery Section) and the different product development team to secure Rakuten LINK applications to meet our Customer's needs, expectations, and managing Quality risks.

・Execution and monitoring of the development cycle and product deliveries,
・Pursuing process efficiency from standardization, systematic improvements and increased automation,
・Promoting constantly the Customer Focus mindset.
 

Position Details

【Job Duties】
・Participate in all phases of SDLC (requirements analysis, test & scope planning, test cases documentation, test execution, results reporting)
・Create detailed test cases based on requirements, and maintain existing test cases
・Create test strategies and design test plans focused on ensuring functionality requirements are met 
・Collaborate with QAs and technical leads to maintain alignment on processes and protocols for test automation 
・Support automated test execution (scripting knowledge is not mandatory)
・Collaborate with QA, development and product team members to ensure testable requirements, identify gaps between design and engineering, clarify and measure expected outcomes, establish a sound QA approach 
・Assist with issues investigation, detailed analysis of functionality specifications and recommendations for improving customer journey 
・Keep updated with the latest industry tools and development strategies

Work Environment

Link Department is an organization of approximately 105 members, consisting of about 80 men and 25 women. Our team comprises a wide range of age groups, from their 20s to 50s.

With offices in Japan, India, and Singapore, it is a highly multinational department where about 90% of the employees are non-Japanese nationals.

Minimum Qualifications:

・Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar field 
・At least 4 years' work experience as Quality Analyst / Software Tester / Quality Engineer
・Understanding of QA processes, QA metrics, agile methodologies and SDLC
・Good understanding of mobile application design and development concepts, and differences between Android and iOS
・Strong communication and collaboration skills in English
・Experience in test management tools (e.g. Test Rail) and project collaboration tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA, Slack)

Preferred Qualifications:

・Knowledge in API automation frameworks (JAVA or Kotlin, Karate or similar framework, SOAPUI/Rest Assured)
・Knowledge in JavaScript, Python, Java or Kotlin programming language
・Understanding of pipeline creation, CI/CD process and tools like Jenkins, CircleCI etc.
・Understanding of scrum and project management concepts
