Proximity is a way of perceiving objects that differs from both sight and touch, and is considered a "sense not found in humans" because it is perceived without seeing or touching the object. The proximity sensor enables recognition of the shape of objects, including blind spots, as well as mirrored and transparent materials, through a unique sensing technology that simultaneously measures the position and shape of the object. Combined with the company's proprietary high-speed, high-precision AI technology, it enables flexible pickup according to the job site, which was considered difficult with conventional industrial robots, and also facilitates reduction of teaching burden.

■Hiring Background

Their company is working to realize "thinking robotic hands" through the provision of proximity sensors. In September 2023, they closed their seed round, raising a total of 230 million yen. Their product, the TK-01, utilizes proximity sensor technology and was launched on July 31, 2023. Going forward, they will continue to improve the product and develop new products. You will be responsible for developing the AI that forms the core of TK-01, contributing to further company growth.

■About the TK-01 Proximity Sensor

This sensor combines infrared and AI for unique high-speed, high-resolution sensing, enabling it to quickly and non-contactly determine the position and shape of objects without the use of a camera. This enables robotic hands to handle mirrored and transparent materials, which were previously difficult for industrial robots, and to flexibly pick items according to the on-site environment, dramatically expanding the possibilities for picking. Furthermore, by significantly reducing the time and effort required for teaching (the process of teaching a robot to perform a task), robotic hands are expected to be used in a variety of new fields.

• Japanese language proficiency required: N2 level

• Knowledge and experience in AI and firmware (edge AI development experience preferred)

Employment Type: Permanent

Trial period: 3months

Estimated annual income: ¥7~12M

Work location : Nara, Japan

Working hours: Flextime system (core time : 10:00-16:00) (break time : 12:00-13:00) (standard working hours : 8 hours)
