Ahead Group is seeking a Telco Data Scientist to join one of our global E-Commerce clients. In this role, you will be part of the data science teams which cover diverse initiatives in both the online and offline worlds. Offline Geo data and Geo Science applications are key to the optimization and overall success in fields including Logistics, Site Planning, Area Marketing, and improving Customer Experience. The Geo Science Team creates algorithms and builds new Geo Intelligence layers to better understand offline activity.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Offline Behaviours & Intelligence team to work on science projects.
- Develop data science and data management applications.
- Partner with science, engineering, and product teams to transition prototypes into production-ready solutions.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in building data management and science solutions to tackle problems in Telco, Mobility, and Geo Spatial data applications (e.g., user behavior extraction, user segment building, multi-data source user behavior combination, campaign target design, mobility data analysis, Telco data, GPS & IP data).
- Deep understanding of general user behavior, particularly offline behavior in comparison to online behavior.
- Fluent in English with the ability to effectively communicate with researchers, engineers, and business teams.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Hands-on development experience in Unix/Linux environments.
Desired Skills:
- Good knowledge of Big Data querying tools such as Pig, Hive, and Spark SQL.
- Experience with distributed computing technologies like Spark and Hadoop.
- Background in GEO/GIS data processing is a significant plus.
- Experience with Big Data Machine Learning toolkits like SparkML, Mahout, or H2O.
