Role Overview
As a
Data Scientist
, you'll drive innovation by solving complex business problems through
machine learning
,
generative AI
, and
advanced analytics
.
You will be directly involved in projects like
fraud detection
,
predictive modeling
, and
AI solution development
to accelerate Rakuten Ichiba's business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and define data-driven business problems in collaboration with product and business teams
- Develop and implement machine learning and generative AI models
- Design, test, and validate experimental AI solutions
- Continuously improve model accuracy and operational efficiency
- Visualize and present findings clearly to key stakeholders
- Monitor and measure deployed AI solutions for continuous improvement
Tech & Skills Required
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Data Analysis & Machine Learning
- Expertise in Python, SQL, and key ML libraries
- Strong understanding of statistics, deep learning, and generative AI
- Experience in model evaluation, tuning, and optimization
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English & Japanese
Nice to Have
- Experience developing AI for fraud detection
- Experience in consulting or e-commerce industries
- Familiarity with Tableau, causal inference, or ML platform development
