Job Purpose
The Medical Manager is a strategic and execution-focused medical leader responsible for elevating the scientific credibility and differentiation of our Consumer Healthcare brands in Japan. This role collaborates closely with regional and global teams, as well as the direct manager, so native-level English fluency is mandatory, and Japanese fluency is strongly preferred. Foreign nationals with these language capabilities are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
1. Medical Strategy & Planning
· Lead the development and execution of Japan-specific medical strategies and annual medical plans
· Define and articulate the scientific uniqueness and therapeutic benefits of CHC brands
· Collaborate with commercial, regulatory, and global medical functions to support innovation pipelines
2. Evidence Generation & Scientific Support
· Design and oversee local clinical trials, real-world evidence (RWE), and observational studies
· Develop evidence to support claims, product positioning, and health authority submissions
· Translate complex science into simple, credible, and memorable messaging for Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and consumers
3. HCP Engagement & Scientific Exchange
· Build and manage relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and academic societies
· Organize and deliver scientific exchange forums, advisory boards, and educational initiatives
· Collect field insights to shape strategic planning and support brand evolution
4. Innovation, Claim Enhancement & Lifecycle Management
· Provide medical input into innovation projects and local registration strategy
· Identify science-driven opportunities for claim enhancement, product differentiation, and lifecycle extension
· Evaluate business development opportunities with a medical lens
5. Medical Governance & Scientific Content Oversight
· Ensure strict compliance with local regulations, industry codes, and company SOPs
· Act as a guardian of ethical medical conduct and internal governance
· Review and approve advertising and promotional materials (ad-promo) as well as educational and training content, ensuring compliance with internal policies, local regulations, and scientific standards
6. Scientific Demonstration & Edutainment
· Drive the creation of engaging edutainment content to explain scientific concepts to HCPs and consumers
· Utilize various channels, including digital platforms and in-person engagements, to elevate scientific literacy and trust
Desired Profile
Required Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of experience in similar position
· Bachelor's degree or higher in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related fields
· Fluent/native English level and Japanese high business level or higher. (Both mandatory)
· Strong experience in clinical research, real-world evidence, and cross-functional collaboration
· Fast and proactive personality with a challenged mindset — someone eager to grow and innovate
· Demonstrated ability in end-to-end project management and multitasking
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in multinational pharma or healthcare companies
· Strong network within Japan's medical community and regulatory environment
· Passion for consumer health and self-care innovation
· Foreign national with native-level English and Japanese language proficiency preferred
