We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Japan.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The position encompasses the following tasks:
IFRS month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, and close per commodity
Preparation of the statutory financial statements according to the local GAAP
Support accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions
Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations
Assist tax monthly reporting for submission to Group Tax
Support local tax and other regulatory submissions
Assist with preparation of transfer pricing file
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and month on month variances analysis as required
Review and process employee expenses and ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
Support the implementation and maintenance of global financial systems and controls.
Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations
Perform bank reconciliations
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
Support with various accounting and finance tasks as required
Qualifications and requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA or CPA) with 1-3 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in the commodities industry.
Knowledge of Japanese accounting standards and regulations.
Advanced English language ability, both written and spoken; native Japanese.
SAP FICO experience is preferrable
Advanced Excel ability
