Join our Japan Export Operation team as a Program Manager based in Tokyo. In this strategic role, you will leverage your expertise in supply chain management and Amazon's Fulfillment Network to drive significant improvements across our B2C export operations in the APAC region (Japan, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia). You will collaborate with both internal stakeholders and external partners to optimize customer experience, expand operational capacity, enhance delivery capabilities, improve cost performance, accelerate delivery speeds, and maximize operational efficiency.

Key job responsibilities

Carrier Management

• Build and maintain strategic carrier relationships
• Enforce performance standards and accountability
• Optimize carrier operations for efficiency and cost reduction
• Negotiate and manage service level agreements

Operational Excellence

• Manage end-to-end operations from fulfillment centers through customs to last-mile delivery
• Track and optimize key metrics related to quality, speed, defects, and costs
• Conduct regular performance reviews (WBR/MBR/QBR) with data-driven improvement plans
• Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives for operational challenges
• Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams

A day in the life

Your typical day involves collaborating with diverse partners across the globe, from domestic operation teams (Fulfillment centers and Linehaul), business teams, system configuration specialists to logistics partners. You'll analyze performance metrics, and work on solutions to complex shipping challenges. You'll balance multiple priorities while ensuring clear communication with stakeholders at all levels. The role offers flexibility to work on various initiatives that directly impact millions of customers worldwide.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of logistics or supply chain operations experience
• Experience defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
• Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) at an advanced level
• English and Japanese written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end delivery management
• Strong stakeholder management skills, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
• Experience building and optimizing operational processes and workflows
• Knowledge of international logistics operations, including customs clearance, trade compliance, and global shipping regulations
