【観光事業課 イベント係】
私たちイベント係は、さいたま市の「熱気」と「感動」を現場で創り出す部署です。さいたま市(大宮・浦和・与野・岩槻エリア)で、年間を通じて多彩な地域イベントを企画・運営します。夏の夜空を彩る「さいたま市花火大会」、地域が一体となる「夏まつり」、国際的なスポーツイベントである「ツール・ド・フランス さいたまクリテリウム」と連携した「さいたまるしぇ」など、手がけるイベントのスケールは非常に大きく、何万人もの来場者の笑顔と活気を生み出します。
この仕事の醍醐味は、企画立案、予算交渉、警察・消防・地域自治会などの関係者との綿密な調整を経て、イベント当日を迎え、無事に終えた瞬間に得られる圧倒的な達成感です。
準備期間は長く、予期せぬトラブル対応や、天候との戦いなど困難も多いですが、イベントの成功によって街に活気が生まれ、参加者から「最高だった」という感謝の言葉を直接聞いた時、すべての苦労が報われます。

【観光事業課 MICE/誘客係】
MICE/誘客係は、さいたま市の「都市ブランド」と「経済効果」を向上させる、戦略的なビジネス部門です。私たちのミッションは、国内外の大規模国際会議や企業イベント(MICE)をさいたま市に誘致すること、そして観光客を増やすための効果的なプロモーション活動を行うことです。
MICE/誘致では、国内外の主催者に対し、さいたま市内の優れた施設やアクセス、文化的な魅力を提案し、誘致を成功させるため他都市と競い合います。数千人規模の会議・大会等を誘致し、その参加者が市内に滞在することで、宿泊・飲食・交通などに大きな経済効果が生まれます。この成果を数値で示し、更なる大規模な会議・大会の誘致への原動力となります。
また、プロモーション活動においては、国内のキャンペーンへの出展、インターネットやSNSを活用した情報発信など、さいたまの多様な資源(盆栽、人形、スポーツなど)をいかに魅力的に国内外へ発信するかを考える企画力やアイデアが求められます。

【国際交流センター 国際交流係】
国際交流センターの交流係は、さいたま市の「国際化」と「多文化共生」を推進する、未来志向の部署です。私たちの仕事は、さいたま市の姉妹・友好都市との間で、文化、教育、スポーツなどの交流プログラムを企画・実施することです。
例えば、学生の相互派遣や文化団体の受け入れを通じて、市民が異文化を肌で感じ、理解を深める機会を創出します。言語や文化の壁を乗り越えて、人と人が心を通わせる「国際交流の架け橋」となることこそ、この仕事の最大の醍醐味です。
また、市内に暮らす外国人市民を対象とした多文化共生事業や、市民向けの国際理解講座の企画・運営も重要な業務です。
様々な背景を持つ人々が、お互いを尊重し合い、安心して暮らせるグローバルな街づくりに貢献しているという実感が、大きなモチベーションにつながります。海外の行政担当者との連携や、文書作成などで日常的に外国語を使用するため、これまでの語学力や国際感覚を存分に活かせます。異文化への深い理解と敬意、高いコミュニケーション能力が求められますが、その分、市民や海外の友人と共に「平和と理解の輪」を広げているという確かな使命感を持てます。
