About the Company
This is a startup from the University of Tokyo that has been working for several years on the social implementation of natural language processing (NLP) technologies through research and development.
With recent technological advancements, expectations for the social application of large language models (LLMs) have grown significantly. However, many unresolved challenges remain on both the technical and societal implementation fronts.
To realize the social implementation of LLMs and turn these expectations into reality, the company is engaged in both research and development of a general-purpose Japanese LLM and the development of products that enable the practical use of LLMs.
Research Engineers, classified as IT Engineers, conduct daily research and development with the goal of creating Japan's No.1 Japanese-language LLM.
By standing at the forefront of innovation in LLM technology, they continuously take on the challenge of bringing these advancements into real-world applications and transforming society through cutting-edge technology.
Project management for AI development (serving as the project owner in the AI domain)
Development of in-house services
Research and development activities such as academic paper surveys and module development
Improving the overall performance of the team

Assignments will be flexibly determined based on the individual's interests and the company's situation.
Requirements
Must-Have
3+ years of research or professional experience in machine learning (especially NLP)
Ability to design, implement, evaluate, tune, and report on machine learning tasks suited to client challenges and use cases
Japanese Language Level

Nice-to-Have
Project management experience
Experience in academic activities such as writing research papers, presenting externally, or participating in joint research
Knowledge of version control tools, Docker, and cloud computing services (GCP, AWS, Azure)
Award-winning experience in data science competitions such as Kaggle, SIGNATE, AICrowd, or academic-affiliated competitions
