We are looking for an experienced sales processional with track record from Oil and Gas downstream, Pulp and Paper or process industry to generate sales and service business in Japan.
Flow Control (FC) Business Line in Valmet is one of the leading providers of mission-critical flow control solutions and services for process industries.

We employ about 28,00 people in approximately 40 countries. With our global team of experts and innovative solutions, we help our customers to improve their process performance and ensure the safe flow of materials.

As Sales Manager (Flow Control / Valve business), you will be accountable for sales strategy, sales and marketing operations including channel partners, key account management and legal compliance in this region. You will be also responsible for daily sales activities, identifying customer needs, managing the deal until the closure, all while leading by example. Your target is to enable and drive our business growth and develop our local organization.
In this position, you will report to the Senior Manager, Sales & Service, Flow Control, Japan.

Your tasks will include

  • Promote orders and profitable growth from domestic end users and distributors in Japan and facilitate market entry.
  • Build and maintain trust with end users and distributors, expanding market share through long-term partnerships.
  • Promote sales of Valmet products, contribute to achieving sales targets, and support growth strategies.
  • Explore new market opportunities in Japan and strengthen competitiveness of Valmet products against competitors.
  • Responsible for managing and achieving sales targets in terms of transaction volume and profitability through execution and follow-up of sales strategies and plans within the sales team, improving customer satisfaction, and developing key customers.
  • Manage existing EPC and OEM customers, identify and develop new customers, and expand market share of Valmet products.
  • Formulate and effectively execute sales strategies tailored to the Japanese market to achieve sales targets.
  • Analyze competitive landscape, customer needs, and market trends in Japan to develop sales strategies.
  • Propose Valmet products and solutions to customers and provide necessary technical support.
  • Negotiate and conclude contracts with customers, ensuring customer requirements are reflected in contract terms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, manage sales performance, and support efficiency in regional sales activities.
  • Monitor sales activities, regularly report performance, and evaluate results.
  • Develop new business partners (distributors, resellers, end users).

Requirements

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in industrial or engineering markets.
  • Business-level English proficiency (document writing and conversation).
  • Sales experience with plant valves is highly valued.
  • Strong reporting skills and market research/analysis.
  • Distributor management.
  • Contract negotiation and conclusion.
  • Product presentation and technical support.
  • Sales strategy planning and execution.
  • Experience using Salesforce.
