Job Title: Manager, Marketing Cloud Platform Department
The Technology Platforms Division is responsible for building and operating the infrastructure and ecosystem platforms which power the Rakuten Group. Our mission is to provide the Rakuten Cloud and Ecosystem Platforms that will deliver core value to accelerate the growth of Rakuten Group services.
Department Overview
The Marketing Cloud Platform Department is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead our core ecosystem platforms. Our mission is to drive Rakuten's marketing product strategy, execute product development, and ensure successful implementation. We empower Rakuten's internal marketing teams by creating engaging, respectful, and cost-efficient marketing platforms that prioritize our customers. Leveraging the Rakuten Ecosystem, we offer comprehensive marketing solutions, including campaign management, multichannel communication, and personalization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the department's strategic objectives by establishing highly efficient processes for productivity improvement across product and project management, finance, HR, and organizational structure planning.
- Plan and manage the department's progress reporting using OKRs and KPIs for executive-level reporting.
- Manage the budget for all service operations costs and act as the primary hub for inquiries from stakeholders.
- Coordinate headcount and people management within the department, working closely with Rakuten's HR team on recruiting priorities and talent management process improvements.
- Design and professionally manage the preparation and follow-up of meetings to ensure smooth communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Mandatory Qualifications
- People management experience of teams with at least 2 members (1 year +)
- Hands-on project management experience
- Hands-on experience with process improvement
- Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization, particularly with executive-level management
- An ability to implement best practices in meetings to achieve organizational goals and solve problems
- A strong business and technology acumen – a strong understanding of both, utilized to make informed decisions and engage in meaningful conversations with stakeholders
- Fluent English language skills
