【About the company】
Development of Small-Scale Decentralized Water Circulation Systems
Development of Autonomous Control Systems for Water Treatment
【 Job Description】
Responsibilities
You'll develop, design, and evaluate water quality sensors for in-house product development projects. These sensors will be integrated into products aimed at structurally solving water problems. The sensors you develop will be used to ensure the water quality of the company's products and control water treatment processes.
You'll be involved in a variety of tasks, including:
・Becoming an interdisciplinary engineer capable of developing sensors in collaboration with multiple teams.
・Defining requirements by focusing on customer value.
・Conceptual design to determine functions and performance.
・Basic design to create drawings based on the concept.
・Detailed design to finalize materials, shapes, and sizes based on the basic design.
・Production design to create assembly drawings for components.
・Evaluating what's been developed and integrating it into the product to achieve desired characteristics.
Japan's water infrastructure, developed with over 100 trillion yen in construction costs since the period of rapid economic growth, boasts world-leading quality and a remarkable 98% penetration rate.
However, this achievement masks a persistent chronic fiscal deficit. This financial strain is set to worsen considerably due to the accelerating population decline and the increasing costs of updating aging facilities—a double burden that further deteriorates the financial situation.
Establishing the sustainable financial foundation of water infrastructure is an urgent challenge we face to ensure that future generations can inherit a prosperous life with uninterrupted access to water.
Recruitment Background
Since its founding in 2014, the company has been a startup dedicated to creatively solving the "water problem," often called the biggest challenge of the 21st century.
They've been building infrastructure that doesn't rely on traditional water and sewage systems, pushing for its use in disaster areas and regions with limited water resources. Since 2021, they've expanded globally, attracting engineers and researchers from all over the world.
However, their mission to "fundamentally solve water problems by transforming humanity's resource use into a circular society" remains unfulfilled. To achieve the kind of non-linear change needed, they require passionate and ambitious colleagues eager to be first and best in the world.
If you're driven by altruism to help the world and its people, and you feel excited by the highly challenging goal of solving the water problem at its root, then they want to embark on this global challenge with you.
■The Company's Potential
・Global Leadership: The company's products are gaining global attention as revolutionary technology for disaster response and infrastructure development in regions with delayed infrastructure. With high recognition in overseas markets, including participation in COP28 and winning the "most prestigious environmental prize in history," the Earthshot Prize founded by Prince William, it holds the potential to spread a sustainable water circulation model worldwide.
・Socially Significant Technology: Their technology, which streamlines water circulation and reduces wastewater, is a crucial key to overcoming climate change and water resource problems. You can be involved in a highly socially impactful business that supports the creation of a society where people can enjoy "water freedom." In this business growth phase, from Series C onwards and aiming for an IPO, the company is confident there will be many opportunities for you to feel a strong sense of purpose and achievement.
・Organizational Structure Empowering Individual Initiative: Despite being a manufacturing company, it embraces "Hyakunin Keiei" (hundred-person management) as its organizational philosophy. This brings together a diverse group of around 100 talented individuals, allowing the entire organization to evolve through earnest challenges. The company highly values "high purity of talent" to enable "serious play," fosters an "environment that boldly encourages challenges" based on "responsibility and growth," and emphasizes "personnel management that confronts the existential reality of each individual" based on "human love," rather than just uniform evaluation standards.
【 Requirements】
Required
・Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering field (Physics, Chemistry, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields).
・Practical experience in the sensor field.
・Experience using experimental and measurement equipment.
・Strong logical thinking and analytical skills.
・Ability to work effectively in a team.
・Skill in planning and conducting experiments to appropriately evaluate developed sensors.
Preferred
・Excellent and broad scientific background to work on projects spanning a variety of disciplines from physics to chemistry to electronics
・Experience in designing for mass production, cost reduction, and selecting scalable components
・Experience in developing sensor specifications, selecting key technologies, and developing system integration strategies
・Experience in establishing quality assurance and testing protocols
