The Job
As the Engineering Manager, you will be reporting to the CTO and will be responsible for:
- Designing and executing the product strategy, overseeing the products and development team, and making cross-functional choices about hiring, resource allocation, and resolving technical issues.
- Managing multidisciplinary teams of backend and machine learning engineers.
- Evaluating and implementing strategies for enhancing productivity and maximizing the engineering organization's growth, focusing on the next three years.
- Fostering the development of successors and next-generation leaders through recruitment and evaluation.
The Profile
- You possess a Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, and have at least 3 years of experience building and managing an engineering team.
- You are hands-on with technical aspects of development and implementation and can build and operate large-scale products.
- You have in-depth experience in at least one of the back-end development languages - Python, ; and within Frontend you have worked with , etc.
- Experience in large-scale machine learning and statistics, with the ability to apply it to new areas such as satellite remote sensing, is a plus.
- Practical experience with ML modeling or ML systems Development experience would be advantageous.
- Development and operation experience in Microservices architecture is a plus.
- You have the ability to document system design decisions for communication between different parts of the organization
- You can maintain high performance in a high-energy and fast-paced work environment.
- Fluency in English and Japanese is required to work with teams distributed across Japan and globally.
