The Opportunity:

The Senior Associate, Executive Search role will be responsible for researching, name generation, initial outreach, screening, presenting candidates, creating client reports and working with clients in conjunction with Partners. Projects will be assigned based on complexity and geographical scope and may at times require collaboration and partnering with other offices across the region or globally.

To support the continued growth of the business, we are seeking talented and energetic individuals to join our APAC research team, and this position is based in Japan, Tokyo. You will have the opportunity to work alongside with industry veterans and be actively involved in the assigned search projects of local or regional capacity with broad market exposure. This role has matrix reporting to the Managing Partner, Japan and Senior Director, APAC Research and Operations.

Job Description/Specific Responsibilities:

1. Desk Research

• Work with Partners to fully understand client requirements to deliver on-target candidates weekly.
• Responsible for creating target list independently, company mapping and candidate name generation, as well as outreach to candidates.
• Adopt primary and secondary area of expertise (industry or functional) and contribute in some form or capacity to development of practice.
• Accountable for following and creatively applying DHR's proven recruiting strategies designed to identify candidates through various recruiting tools (Invenias, LinkedIn Recruiter etc.).
• Knowledge of advanced research techniques and ability to access third party databases and mine associations or other directories to unearth talent not otherwise found.

2. Client/Candidate Management

• Responsible for managing candidate scheduling with support of admin staff
• Building relationships with clients when needed.

3. Assignment Execution

• Thorough understanding of DHR's search process to execute and drive assignments from start to finish, with limited support.

4. Data Management

• Maintain the integrity of the data on DHR's global system, in supporting efficiency in the search process and global data management.

5. Report production

• Create detailed status reports, target lists, company maps and identify leadership teams specific to client needs.

6. Practice Focus

• Develop in-depth expertise in two areas and demonstrate leadership in development of practice, troubleshooting searches, and mentoring and guiding junior staff.

What We're Looking For:

Talented, highly collaborative people who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, who possess:

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in recruiting/executive search
• The ideal candidate will have prior recruiting experience in either sectors - Corporate functions, Advanced Technology, Industrial (Automotive/Energy etc.) or Life Sciences (we are also open to consider candidates from other areas of specialization if they possess strong track record of recruiting experience)
• Competent communications skills (Professional working proficiency in English and Japanese are desired for smooth communication with both internal and external stakeholders/candidates)
• Strong understanding of Japanese market and etiquette
• Proven project management skills – adheres to project timelines and ensures key deliverables are met
• Strong problem-solving skills
