Our client is a leading Hong Kong–headquartered trading and distribution group with diversified businesses across food, consumer goods, automotive, and machinery.
We are seeking an energetic, supportive and strategic Managing Director with strong analytical skills to lead and expand the company's presence in the Japan market.

TBC (Around JPY 20 million)
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and management of the Japan office, ensuring strong operational performance and business growth.
Develop and implement strategic business plans for both existing and emerging business areas.
Collaborate closely with the APAC team to explore new business opportunities and drive regional synergy.
Manage, mentor, and develop teams (5 teams, marketing, sales, IT , Admin and Finance) fostering collaboration and performance excellence.
Lead the FMCG and electrical products business strategy in Japan, identifying market trends and new channels.
Oversee financial performance, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Build and strengthen relationships with key local partners, distributors, and stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all Japanese laws, corporate governance, and regional group policies.
Drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and cultural alignment within the organization.

Board of Directors (Japan) and Regional Executive (APAC)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline.
Minimum 10–15 years of senior leadership experience in FMCG, F&B, electrical products, trading, or distribution industries.
Proven success managing or expanding operations within Japan or other APAC markets.
Deep understanding of Japanese market dynamics, distribution networks, and business culture.
Strong people leadership and change management capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Native in Japanese. Fluent in English. Chinese is a plus.
