FIELD APPLICATION ENGINEER
The Job
The Field Application Engineer (FAE) will support the Regional Sales Managers of the APAC region, complementing the commercial pre-sales process with their technical expertise of the complete Septentrio portfolio.
The role requires a good understanding of a range of applications relying on high-end GNSS, INS, and timing solutions. This includes guiding our customers from product evaluation to system and OEM integration until delivery of the final product. Pre-sales support may be provided both remotely (office/home) and on-site at the customers' premises. In addition, the FAE will establish and maintain productive business relationships with key stakeholders, both external and internal.
Your Mission
You will handle after-sales tech support cases raised by customers in your appointed geographical area, troubleshooting and resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction using Septentrio products.
You will need to be fluent in Septentrio's technology, including on-receiver web UI, command interfaces, GNSS/INS data analysis, and post-processing software tools. Collaboration with Regional Sales Managers on pre-sales activities is essential, where you will own the technical relationship while the RSM manages the commercial aspect. You will also work closely with the ASG team and global FAE teams for technical support issues and escalations, and provide customer feedback to product management and ASG.
Keeping your knowledge up to date with support from both the 2nd line support team and other FAE team members is crucial to provide accurate and current information to customers. You will address specific customer technical needs by:
- Offering on-site product evaluations
- Integration assistance, organizing training sessions
- Performing demonstrations
- Supporting performance testing to define the optimal solution using Septentrio's products
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone with 1-5 years' experience as a technical GNSS end-user and/or application & electronics integrator who is also comfortable working with a wide range of technologies, software, and applications.
Next to that, we're looking for:
- Excellent communication skills are required as you will be the first point of contact for key customers. You're fluent in Japanese and English, additional languages are a plus.
- You should be customer-oriented, solution-focused, and able to engage within the EMEA FAE team Assertiveness and the ability to take ownership of technical issues are important.
- Specific knowledge of timing solutions, ROS, autopilots, Electronics schematics, etc… is an asset.
- You should be able to work from the office in Yokohama, Japan and be available to travel to customers and expositions.
- MSc/BSc in Computer/Electrical/Industrial/Geomatics Engineering, Physics, or equivalent is required.
