You are proud, enthusiastic on the work you do and are always looking for opportunities to improve the data products our team makes.  The Global Region Data & Analytics department is responsible for delivering all data products within the EMEA & APAC & AMER regions.

We are now looking for a (Principal) IT Business Analyst to join our Global Region APAC and EMEA team.

This position will have a strong focus on supporting the Japan domains within Medtronic.

As an IT Business Analyst, you will liaise with our business partners and advise them on the data & analytics solutions and opportunities that will support their strategic ambitions. You will facilitate workshops with our internal customers to gather their information needs, then connect with the technical teams to come up with the best set-up on how to implement the solution. You will play a key role in assessing and designing solutions from a functional perspective, while keeping our business partners informed.  

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will be the first point of contact for information needs and analytics capabilities towards the business stakeholders.
  You will need to consult with senior business leaders to translate business goals into data & analytics use cases and communicate insights back to business stakeholders.  (e.g. key person in delivering the strategic program of migration of our Japan legacy datawarehouse to cloud - Snowflake)
• Participate as a business analyst in challenging projects related to data and analytics, this includes setting up communication plans, identifying information-
  and visualization needs through workshops and prototyping sessions, explore new sources of data, document requirements for the technical teams and facilitate user acceptance tests and deployment tasks. 
• Engage with IT technical teams and IT cross-functional teams to identify the best solution direction 
• Collaborate with our IT security and privacy department on data privacy and data compliancy related requirements 
• Proactively identify and drive new use cases and data-driven product innovations
• Support the team with analytical and technical skills as well as with strong communication skills and a positive can-do mindset 
• Act as the IT Data and Analytics SPOC in Japan and connect with several Community of practices across data users.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Hard skills)

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in job offered or a similar role in analytics & data management,
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities, including the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• BS/MS with quantitative focus (e.g. Information Management, economics)
• Extensive experience in gathering, documenting, and challenging business requirements
• Able to explain technical concepts in clear words to non-technical stakeholders 
• Good presentation and (data) visualization skills 
• Strong) knowledge of the fundamentals of Business Intelligence and/or data warehousing (is a plus) 
• Experience with Tableau and/or PowerBI (is a plus) 
• Experience and knowledge of multiple SAP functional modules is an advantage.
