As the Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be the core technical driver for transforming raw data into reliable, structured, and performant assets.
You will focus your dedication across three key pillars:
- Technical Mastery & Delivery (80%): Direct implementation of advanced data transformation pipelines and modeling strategies.
- Architectural Foresight & Innovation (10%): Research, evaluation, and prototyping of next-generation tools and patterns.
- Technical Stewardship & Guidance (10%): Mentorship, code review, and leading architectural discussions to uplift team capability.
You will spearhead the development of the Data Vault implementation and subsequent core data layers, ensuring seamless alignment between architectural design, analytical needs, and business priorities under demanding deadlines and technical constraints.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead Data Modeling & Transformation (80%):
Drive hands-on development of scalable data transformation workflows using
DBT
and modern patterns like
Data Vault
. Architect, implement, and maintain efficient, automated pipelines, ensuring high data quality through comprehensive testing. Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using
Terraform
for controlled CI/CD/CO and manage secure deployment processes. - Strategic Research & Innovation (10%):
Conduct research on emerging analytics engineering technologies, evaluate and prototype new tooling for modeling scalability, and present strategic technical proposals and documentation to leadership. - Technical Stewardship & Alignment (10%):
Provide technical mentorship, lead architectural design reviews, and ensure cross-functional alignment by collaborating with Data Modelers and Analysts to integrate business requirements with data design.
Qualifications1. Technical Depth and Experience
- You must possess an advanced degree (Master's preferred) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- You must have 10+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or an equivalent function.
- You must have Expert Command of DBT (Data Build Tool) for complex data transformation and modeling initiatives.
- You must have Deep Specialization in the Data Vault Methodology and Dimensional Modeling principles.
- You must demonstrate exceptional proficiency in SQL and large-scale Data Warehouse development (Expertise in Databricks highly desirable; experience with Snowflake or Big Query also valued).
- You must have Expert-level implementation experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- You must have an extensive background with data pipeline orchestration/workflow management tools.
- You must possess strong mastery of version control (e.g., GitHub, AWS Code Commit) and mature CI/CD/CO practices.
You must have a demonstrated history of successfully leading and delivering complex, high-impact technical programs.
