Asia-Pacific Academic (APA), registered as THE APIEA LLC, is a professional organization dedicated to Education Abroad and International Studies. Founded in 2021 by three experienced leaders with over 1 6years of expertise in international cultural exchange, APA has successfully supported over 10,000 students and faculty. The organization offers diverse programs, including faculty-led study abroad, internships, virtual learning, and language studies, across more than 20 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, such as China, Japan, Thailand, Australia, and others. Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for an Operations Manager - Student Housing, based in Tokyo, with the flexibility to work from home when feasible. The Operations Manager will oversee daily operations of student housing facilities, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards and addressing the needs of residents. Responsibilities include supervising housing staff, coordinating with local vendors for maintenance and logistics, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. They will collaborate with educational partners and stakeholders to enhance the housing experience for international students.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage staff and oversee operational processes.
- Experience in managing budgets, contracts, and vendor relations.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills to interact with students, staff, and stakeholders effectively.
- Understanding of student housing operations, facility management, and familiarity with related regulations.
- Cultural sensitivity and experience working in cross-cultural environments; knowledge of the Asia-Pacific region is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field; relevant experience considered an asset.
- Fluency in English required, proficiency in Japanese or other regional languages preferred.
- Proficiency in using management software and tools for operations management and reporting.
