The Marketplace business is the development of Rakuten Ichiba, the founding business of Rakuten.
Rakuten Ichiba, founded in 1997 and continuing to this day, embodies Rakuten's mission of "empowering people and society through innovation," and has created a system that allows people who are good at business to easily open stores beyond the limits of the business sphere, delivering the joy of shopping to users throughout Japan. We are now one of the largest EC companies in Japan.Today, Rakuten Ichiba has grown to become one of the largest e-commerce sites in Japan.
Department Overview
In order to expand sales of Rakuten Ichiba, which is the core service of the Rakuten Group, we will make it possible for more users to come to Rakuten Ichiba and enjoy shopping through marketing activities and become fans of Rakuten Ichiba through that experience. Our mission is to promote alliances with external media and contribute to the growth and development of Rakuten Ichiba.

In the recent situation where the importance of SEO is increasing along with the evolution of Google search results, we would like to increase the number of personnel in order to further accelerate our diversifying activities.
Position Details
You will be involved in the work of maximizing SEO traffic to Rakuten Ichiba through the planning, promotion, and implementation of SEO measures.
The role of the SEO specialist is to contribute to the growth of the business by planning SEO measures based on the business strategy and driving and implementing the measures by coordinating with related developments such as Tech Unit and Creative Unit.

- Planning strategies and measures based on various surveys and data analysis
- Definition of project requirements, proposal, and acquisition of approval
- Project promotion and management in cooperation with related departments such as Tech and Creative Units
- Effect measurement and propose improvement actions based on the access analysis after release
- Monitoring/analysis/problem extraction of inflow condition
Flow after joining the company
You will be in charge of existing SEO projects, and you will get familiar with our services and operations, focusing on project proposals and management. In addition, you will proceed with consideration of new proposals based on the current situation and med -long term strategies.
Mandatory Qualifications
- SEO work experience as a consultant or in-house PIC
- Experience in planning and proposing SEO measures
- Experience in technical search engine optimization (technical SEO)
- Experience in project management
- Practical experience in access analysis using Google Analytics, etc.
- Knowledge of general web technology (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- SEO work experience on EC site or large-scale site
- Experience in formulating SEO strategies
- Experience in content planning, production, and management
- Team management experience
- Experience in extracting and analyzing data using SQL such as BigQuery
- Development and restrictions experience of HTML/CSS and JavaScript
- Experience in UI/UX design

Additional Information On English Qualification
TOEIC Score exceeding 800 (or similar level of English ability) or a University Degree earned in an English-speaking country
- TOEIC Score of 600 or higher is acceptable for fixed-term employees.
In this case, it is necessary to achieve a TOEIC Score exceeding 800 after joining Rakuten in order to be eligible to become a regular employee.
If no evidence is available to prove the qualifications denoted above, taking an IP test, organized by Rakuten, during selection process is required.
