This is a very high visibility role, providing consulting services to President of Rakuten Symphony. We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and results-driven Telecom Business Consultant to join our Business Consulting team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in telecom consulting, network planning, or related fields. This role will focus on delivering high-quality consulting services in areas such as network setup, transformation planning, investment analysis, technology evaluation, and automation best practices, using a good understanding of OpenRAN, Telco Cloud, and OSS concepts. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities:
New Network Setup and Project Scoping:
- Conduct feasibility studies and define project scope for new network setups.
- Define scope and objectives for ORAN network design and planning.
- Assist in resource planning for new network setups.
Network Transformation Plan:
- Assess the current state of telecom networks and identify gaps.
- Develop transformation roadmaps to guide network evolution.
Investment Business Cases:
- Perform ROI and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis for network projects.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
Technology Evaluation and Selection:
- Conduct vendor assessments and technology benchmarking.
- Develop technology roadmaps aligned with business goals.
Automation Best Practices:
- Identify and implement automation best practices to improve efficiency.
- Identify and articulate Rakuten Mobile (RMI) success stories to build replicable use cases.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education : Bachelor's/Master's degree in Telecommunications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in telecom consulting, network planning, or business analysis. Strong understanding of Open RAN, Telco Cloud, OSS systems, and telecom infrastructure. Ability to analyze business challenges and develop strategic roadmaps.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technological challenges, and work cross-organizationally.
- Problem Solving: Ability to drive simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in ROI/TCO analysis, risk management, and strategic planning.
- Project Management: Experience in scoping, planning, and executing network transformation projects.
- Communication: Excellent Business-level communication in English. Strong ability to present complex data clearly and stakeholder management skills is essential.
Preferred Requirements:
- Education: Advanced degree or MBA from a leading business school.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge of the telecommunications industry, OpenRAN, cloud and OSS solutions. Knowledge of virtualized telecom network, TM Forum ODA (Open Digital Architecture) and automation practices in telecom networks is a plus.
